Paul Fox Mini Cups | Sterling Silver | Polished Finish

Paul Fox TrademarkLong unavailable, the Sterling Silver Paul Fox Mini Cups are back with a limited amount of sets available.
One of the most popular and sought-after style of cups for the cups and balls is the Paul Fox style cup. The Paul Fox cup design was among the first cup created exclusively for cups and balls performers that featured a rounded top. Since its conception and manufacture, many magicians have contributed moves to the performance of cups and balls that can best be accomplished with a rounded top cup. Now the famous Paul Fox design is available in this miniature replica set, allowing the cups and balls performer to bring a small set of cups to any venue and include a performance of the cups and balls in the most "close up" of situations.

We feel it is important to mention that two different size balls can be used with these cups depending upon your needs. 7/8" diameter balls are recommended, which gives you a larger ball to manipulate and better performance of some standard moves and sleights with the cups, but you cannot nest three 7/8" balls between the cups. If you need to nest 3 balls between the cups, then you will have to use 3/4" balls. We prefer to use the larger 7/8" balls, you may prefer otherwise. Both are listed here for your convenience.

Craftsmanship

These cups are not plated. Each cup is hand spun from .040" Sterling Silver and polished to a high gloss finish on its exterior and a brushed satin finish in its interior. Sterling Silver is 92.5% pure silver. These cups are a delight to behold, handle superbly, and can do all the moves that full size cups can do.

RNT2 - Silver Paul Fox mini cups

I have, for a while, been an emphatic user of the RNT2 copper Paul Fox mini cups (Zimmerman legacy). They are by far one of my favorite sets I own. They are a great size for the hand and provide a good looking style to a close up (very close up) cups and balls routine. In fact they were instantly my cups of choice when I went to the IBM convention in Nashville TN in 2009. Needless to say they work very well with the routine I developed and they are always with me when I travel (very compact size makes this an easy carry on with my laptop).

When I found out RNT2 (Buckley Legacy) were coming out with an argentium silver set with a mirror finish, I knew they would be great. As soon as it was posted on their site, you could here magicians shaking piggy banks across the globe. Over time I finally was able to get my hands on a set, and they are truly incredible.

The features are seemingly identical to the copper set when it comes to size and feel, but there is just "something" to the sound of real silver (coin guys know exactly what I'm talking about). From my understanding the silver used is also resistant to tarnish and needing to be cleaned often, but only time will truly tell. So far they look brand new, and that's saying something since I can't seem to put them down.

The biggest surprise to me was the cost. It amazes me that Donnie Buckely hasn't raised the price of these since the day he posted them. After receiving the cups, I had a long conversation about these cups with him and he was very straight forward about there not being a real profit margin due to the initial cost of silver and the work it takes to produce. The fact that they haven't increased in cost as silver prices have sky rocketed is a real attribute to Donnie and his roll in the new RNT2. I asked him "well, why did you make them?"… his response "I wanted a set and I thought they would be really cool". It's always good to love what you do more than why you do it!

I hope he doesn't mind me revealing the inner dialog of our conversation, but it really proves where his reasoning is when it comes to RNT2. Per that conversation he let one little tide bit slip, he said he only had 5 sets left and due to silver prices rising, chances are that will be it for the foreseeable future. Glad I got my set! I ran the silver to dollar ratio to the weight of the cups and once you factor the value of the raw material, these cups are really inexpensive! In fact, after silver value is deducted, they are cheaper than all the other PF mini cups, except that plain copper set, and I suspect that will change in a matter of weeks with the silver value increase rate. I'm not suggesting these cups as a silver investment, but the numbers are sure interesting. I'll be sad to see these have the "out of stock" red text next to them for so long once the last set is gone.

To wrap up a really long review, these cups are great to use and to look at. I suspect they will be with me for many a trip… just not anywhere too dangerous, sorry Canada I'll be bringing my copper set.

My 2nd Gen. Sterling Mini PF's arrived and I can't tell you how pleased I am. These are REALLY NICE CUPS! They are perfect in every way, not a flaw in any of them. They stack perfectly and are polished to a mirror shine.

The cups came with a really nice silver lined velvet bag with the "PF" logo embroidered on it. I chose a black bag, but red and royal blue are available as well. I paid a small charge for four silver/white balls to go with the set. Everything just looks great.

Shipping was fast and it only took a couple of days to get them. Don kept in immediate communication with me, and I knew the moment they were shipped.

Great work! I am very impressed with the product and customer service I received on this order. These mini PF's in sterling are not inexpensive, but they are worth every penny.

A clear 5 out of 5 stars!

I received my set of silver Paul Fox mini cups in yesterday's mail. With great anticipation, I opened the box and was very happy with what I saw. These cups are beautiful! They are a tactile delight and a visual delight as well.

The matching black bag, silver lined with monogram fits the set perfectly in every way.

If these cups are any indication of future work, RnT II will be a total success. Don's work on these cups carry on the tradition that was started by Mike Brazill, picked up by Chris Reesman, and expanded to new heights by Jake Zimmerman.

Kudos, Don! These cups get five stars!
